A few great reasons why you should buy a hybrid, and a few why you shouldn’t.
1. Some experts suggest that the only way to really benefit from a hybrid is if your current daily driver is at its last leg and you are currently in the market for a new vehicle, anyway. That is the only true way you could benefit from purchasing a new hybrid vehicle. The money you will save by trading in that Camry and purchasing a Prius will be minimal if any.
2. Tax savings, we all love getting a tax break especially if we get a tax break for driving the vehicle we actually want to drive. Experts again do suggest checking with your local dealer and your accountant to make sure that the hybrid you plan on purchasing actually does qualify for a tax rebate. Some hybrids such as the Toyota Prius are no longer eligible for tax breaks.
3. Parking next to the CEO, well close enough. Some employers have especial designated parking for employees with hybrid vehicles, check with your HR department to see if this program is available and if you qualify.

4. Stuck in traffic? Well in some states and counties if you drive a hybrid you can take advantage of the HOV lane.
Reasons why you shouldn’t
1. You want to save money; most hybrids cost a few thousand more than the regular version. Even with gas hovering near $4 a gallon it will take you a few years to make up for that few thousand.
2. If you think your hybrid will drive like a regular car; hybrids most often have less responsive steering and brakes.
3. You like the EPA estimates on the window sticker, remember those are only estimates? And lets be honest we don’t always drive at 55mph.
